3.6トンの小川の水をひいてきて、直径 2メートル高さ3メートルの鉄枠のなかで凍らせる。マイナス20℃の大自然の中で、水の鋳造だな。透明な氷にするには毎日撹拌して、空気を送り込まなきゃならない。型枠が外れたのは3週間後の1月1日だった。それからゆっくりゆっくり春先の陽射しに溶けて、またもとの小川に還っていった。

3.6 tons of water pumped from a creek was frozen in an iron frame 2meters in diameters and 3 meters high. The water was "cast" in nature at minus 20 degrees Celsius. To make the ice clear, it had to be stirred and aerated daily. Three weeks later, on January 1, the frames were finally removed. It then slowly melted and returned to the creek in the spring.
